Don’t let their bubblegum pink saris fool you. These Indian women mean business. They call themselves the Pink Vigilantes and those bows they carry aren’t just walking sticks. They makes criminals responsible for their crimes.

The police won’t do what they should, so these women pick up the slack.

The stern group of women deliver swift justice to anyone believed guilty of domestic violence or sexual abuse.

They look past political corruption and agendas. The only thing they wish to do is make the guilty pay.

“Nobody comes to our help in these parts,” says Sampat Pal Devi, the gang’s leader.

“The police and officials are corrupt and anti-poor. So sometimes we have to take the law into our own hands. At other times, we shame the wrongdoers.”

It’s so encouraging to see women take care of their sisters. Share this story with a woman you care about.
